French Toast

  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp. milk or water
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. hard margarine (not butter)
  • 2 to 3 slieces of french bread, 1 inch thick
  • a sprinkle of icing sugar 

 

  1. Break egg into a pie plate, beat with fork. Add milk or water, salt, and vanilla and mix together.
  2. Melt margarine in medium-hot frying pan.
  3. Dip the bread slices, one at a time, into the egg mixture, turning to coat both sides. Brown both sides in the frying pan.
  4. Sprinkle a spoonful of icing sugar over top of the slices.
