Sweet and Sour Farmer Sausage

  • 24 inches of farmer sausage (approximately), sliced (check for gluten)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 red peppers, chopped into bite sized pieces
  • 6 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/3 cup ketchup (check for gluten)
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablesoons corn starch
  • 2 beef oxo cube/heap tablespoon (check for gluten)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder/salt
  • 3 cups of rice

 

  1. In a large pot, fry the sausage and onion until the onion is mostly translucent (it's okay if the sausage isn't completely cooked at this point).
  2. Start the rice in a separate pot.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients to the sausage and onion, bring the pot to a boil, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Serve over the rice.
